Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before using GPS Area Calculator. They govern your use of the app and form a binding legal agreement between you and us.

Important: GPS Area Calculator provides measurements for informational purposes only. Measurements are not legally binding surveys. Always verify critical measurements with a licensed professional before making legal, financial, or construction decisions.
1. Acceptance of Terms
1.1 Agreement to Terms
By downloading, installing, or using GPS Area Calculator ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.
1.2 Capacity to Contract
By accepting these Terms, you represent that you are at least 13 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement. If you are using the App on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
1.3 Modifications
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes through the App or via email. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
2. App Usage Rules
2.1 Permitted Use
GPS Area Calculator is licensed for personal, commercial, and professional use for the purpose of measuring land areas, perimeters, distances, and related geographic calculations. You may use measurement results for any lawful purpose.
2.2 Prohibited Use
You agree not to: (a) use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws or regulations; (b) attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the App; (c) use automated tools or scripts to access, scrape, or interact with the App; (d) interfere with or disrupt the App's servers or networks; (e) use the App to trespass on private property or conduct surveillance without authorization.
2.3 Account Usage
If you create an account, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account.
2.4 Fair Use of Free Features
The free version of GPS Area Calculator is offered for genuine personal and professional use. Attempting to circumvent measurement limits, in-app purchase requirements, or premium feature restrictions through technical means is prohibited.
3. User Responsibilities
3.1 Safety
You are solely responsible for your own safety when using the App in the field. Do not use the App while operating a vehicle or in situations where your attention is required for safety. Be aware of your surroundings at all times when walking property boundaries.
3.2 Legal Compliance
You are responsible for ensuring your use of the App and the measurements obtained comply with all applicable local, state, national, and international laws. This includes property laws, trespassing regulations, privacy laws, and surveying regulations in your jurisdiction.
3.3 Verification of Results
You accept full responsibility for verifying the accuracy of any measurements before relying on them for legal, financial, or safety-critical decisions. GPS Area Calculator is a tool to assist measurement — it is not a substitute for professional surveying.
3.4 Data Backup
You are responsible for backing up your saved measurements. We are not liable for any loss of measurement data due to app updates, device failure, uninstallation, or other causes.
4. Intellectual Property
4.1 Ownership
GPS Area Calculator, including its source code, design, graphics, logos, text, and other content, is owned by or licensed to GPS Area Calculator and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. All rights are reserved.
4.2 License Grant
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for its intended purpose on your personal device(s). This license does not include the right to sublicense, distribute, copy, modify, or create derivative works of the App.
4.3 Your Content
Measurement data, notes, and labels you create within the App remain your property. By using the App, you grant us a limited license to process this data on-device solely for the purpose of providing App functionality.
4.4 Third-Party Content
The App incorporates third-party components including OpenStreetMap data (licensed under ODbL), map tiles, and open-source libraries. These are used in accordance with their respective licenses. Trademarks of third parties remain the property of their respective owners.
5. Disclaimer of Accuracy
5.1 GPS Limitations
GPS measurement accuracy depends on multiple factors beyond our control, including device GPS hardware quality, satellite signal availability, atmospheric conditions, obstructions (buildings, trees, terrain), and software processing. Typical accuracy is within 2–10 meters under open sky conditions but may vary significantly.
5.2 Not a Legal Survey
Measurements obtained with GPS Area Calculator are NOT legally binding property surveys. For legally recognized property boundaries, land titles, construction permits, real estate transactions, or official land records, you must engage a licensed professional land surveyor.
5.3 No Warranty of Accuracy
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. WE MAKE NO REPRESENTATION OR WARRANTY THAT THE MEASUREMENTS PROVIDED BY THE APP ARE ACCURATE, COMPLETE, OR FIT FOR ANY PARTICULAR PURPOSE. THE ENTIRE RISK AS TO THE QUALITY AND ACCURACY OF MEASUREMENTS RESTS WITH YOU.
5.4 Map Data Accuracy
Map data and satellite imagery are provided by third parties and may not reflect current conditions. Land boundaries visible on maps may not correspond to legal property boundaries. Do not rely on map imagery to determine property lines.
6. Limitation of Liability
6.1 Exclusion of Damages
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, GPS AREA CALCULATOR AND ITS OWNERS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE APP, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, LOSS OF DATA, PROPERTY DAMAGE, OR PERSONAL INJURY.
6.2 Cap on Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE APP SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE APP IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR $10 USD IF YOU HAVE NOT MADE ANY PAYMENT.
6.3 Essential Basis
You acknowledge that the limitations of liability in this section are an essential element of the basis of the bargain between us. Without these limitations, we would not be able to offer the App at the current price or at all.
6.4 Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless GPS Area Calculator and its affiliates, officers, agents, and employees from any claim, demand, or damage, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising out of your use of the App, violation of these Terms, or infringement of any third-party rights.
7. Updates to Terms
7.1 Right to Update
We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. The most current version of the Terms will always be available within the App and on our website.
7.2 Notification of Changes
For material changes to these Terms, we will provide at least 30 days' notice before the changes take effect by posting a notice in the App, or by sending a notification to users who have provided their email address.
7.3 Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be resolved through binding arbitration or in the courts of competent jurisdiction, as required by applicable law.
7.4 Severability
If any provision of these Terms is held to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
